Presented in historic Packer Memorial Church, this concert features the full choir and orchestra performing Bach cantatas BWV 172 Erschallet, ihr Lieder (Ring forth O songs) and BWV 69 Lobe den Herrn, meine Seele (Praise the Lord, my soul), as well as a dialogue cantata for soprano and bass BWV 152 Tritt auf die Glaubensbahn (Step upon the path of faith). Festival artist-in-residence, the young virtuoso violinist Caroline Goulding, is featured in Bach’s Violin Concerto in E Major. Called “precociously gifted” by Gramophone, Ms. Goulding has been garnering praise since her professional debut at age 13 and recently won a Grammy for her debut album on Teldec.
